Welcome to our Receptra Body Oil review!

Receptra’s Relax + Arnica massage oil contains excellent herbs like arnica, lavender, and, of course, 200mg of full-spectrum CBD oil.

The oil is intense both in its scent and ability to provide relief. While the relief wasn’t as strong as we were hoping, it’s excellent for promoting serious relaxation.

Ingredients

MCT Oil, Arnica Oil, Jojoba Oil, Organic Vitamin E, Receptra Hemp Extract, Fragrance Oils (Lavender, Vanilla), and Camphor

Concentration

We tested Receptra’s 4oz, 200mg Body Oil, the smaller of two sizes that Receptra offers with the other being twice as large (8oz, 400mg).

According to the certificate of analysis, our product had 188.8mg of CBD.

For such a large product (4oz), this is a small concentration of CBD, to the point where we’re not entirely sure that it plays much of a role in the oil’s effectiveness.

That concern is compounded by the fact that the topical absorption rate of CBD is low.

But don’t give up on the body oil: the other ingredients give this product plenty of potential.

Value

Our version of the Receptra Body Oil retails for $29.99, which comes out to $0.15/mg.

The upfront cost is reasonable for a well-formulated massage oil with several excellent ingredients.

However, the price per mg is a bit high even for CBD topicals, due to the low concentration of CBD.

Considering the body oil as a whole, our team believes it is valued correctly (but could be improved with more CBD).

The 8oz version costs $39.99, clocking in at a more cost-efficient $0.10/mg.

Ingredients

MCT Oil, Arnica Oil, Jojoba Oil, Organic Vitamin E, Receptra Hemp Extract, Fragrance Oils (Lavender, Vanilla), and Camphor

Packaging

The body oil is contained in a 4oz bottle that comes in a box.

The box contains suggested use information, an ingredient list, an FDA disclaimer, and a QR code that takes you directly to the related third-party batch results.

As for the bottle, it also has a list of the ingredients and a QR code for third-party results.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients in the Receptra Seriously Relax + Arnica Body Oil: MCT Oil, Arnica Oil, Jojoba Oil, Organic Vitamin E, Receptra Hemp Extract, Fragrance Oils (Lavender, Vanilla), and Camphor.

Arnica is appropriately highlighted by Receptra.

Research and anecdotal evidence indicates that arnica can remove bruises, speed up healing, and relieve pain and inflammation.

Scent and Texture

The body oil has an intense lavender and camphor scent.

While vanilla is also included for fragrance, it tends to be overpowered by the other two.

Some users may be put off by the intensity of the lavender, but lavender enthusiasts are likely to find it blissful and relaxing.

The texture is nearly identical to most other massage oils, gliding smoothly across the skin.

Effectiveness

Members of our team reported mild relief from everyday aches and discomfort when using the oil in a massage.

They also noted that a little goes a long way, so we recommend not using too much with your first use, especially due to the intense scent.

Conclusion: Is the Receptra Body Oil Worth It?

Receptra has made a body oil that boasts a great formulation with high-quality ingredients and does its job in promoting calm and relaxation.

In our opinion, it does have a couple of shortcomings, notably due to its low CBD concentration and, consequently, high price per mg ($0.15/mg).

But after our experience with the product, we believe we can recommend the Receptra Body Oil to those looking for serious relaxation.

About Receptra

Receptra works with family farms from Colorado to source its hemp.

These farmers use organic methods and handpick the hemp when harvest time comes around, allowing farmers to decide which specific plants are suitable for use and to preserve the cannabinoid content within.

What makes Receptra unique in this space is that they create their products from the hemp flower, as opposed to the stalk and stems that most other companies use.

The flower is richest in cannabinoids (like CBD) and terpenes versus other plant parts, and while it’s also more expensive to use, Receptra prioritizes quality over cost.

“Using hand-shucked hemp flower allows us to control quality of our products starting at the most foundational level,” said Bryanna Fissori, Receptra Content and Compliance Manager. “We are a wellness company, but that wellness starts with the highest-quality hemp we can grow.”

Receptra solely uses ethanol to extract oil from the hemp flower, a clean and efficient extraction method well-suited for full-spectrum products.

Receptra conducts third-party testing with every batch of product they make. The Certificates of Analysis (COA) for each test are directly available on their site and via QR codes on product packaging.

Receptra’s third-party lab tests for cannabinoid concentration, microbes, heavy metals, and terpenes.
