Another major differentiator that is still surprisingly uncommon among top-tier brands is the flower-only extraction standard; Receptra (and a small handful of other brands like Cornbread Hemp) only derive their hemp from the flower of the hemp plant, which is the most cannabinoid-dense portion of the plant by a significant margin.

The quality and variety of their full-spectrum CBD oil, topical, gummy, and capsule formulations—many of which use supporting cannabinoids and functional ingredients—also speaks to a higher level of ethics and industry knowledge.

• CBD: 6.05mg/g = 24.4mg/gummy
• CBG: 0.953mg/g = 3.812mg/gummy
• CBC: 0.345mg/g = 1.38mg/gummy

The CBD is slightly under-delivered, but the CBG overshoots the mark, and a cumulative 2+ grams of additional supporting cannabinoids makes a strong case for synergistic effects (i.e., the entourage effect).

This is already a competitive price point for the premium CBD gummy market, but accounting for the uncommonly high supporting cannabinoid content, it’s even more competitive. 

Most non-targeted full-spectrum CBD gummies (with no functional claims on labeling) cost around $0.08mg or higher, so a well-established brand offering this price point on a targeted CBD gummy is pricing them to sell.

Both for the price itself and the quality of the formulation relative to this price, we’re giving Receptra the nod for making these CBD gummies accessible.

Our gummies arrived in darkly tinted plastic containers with black, threaded lids.

As for the packaging, neither the lid nor the container gave us any issues throughout our use of the product.

Here is the ingredient list for Receptra Naturals Seriously Relax Gummies:

Hemp Flower Extract, Cannabigerol, Tapioca Syrup, Sugar, Pectin, Natural Cherry & Lime Flavors, Citric Acid, Vegetable Juice (Color), Sodium Citrate.

Starting off with what we typically don’t like to see, both the quantity and quality of the sugar in this case are within reasonable bounds.

Tapioca syrup and real sugar are always preferable to high-fructose corn syrup, and keeping the added sugar amount to 2g per gummy is moderately below the average (3g added sugar is more common).

Natural cherry and lime flavors, and zero harsh preservatives or additives further seal this ingredient list’s quality.

In a perfect world, there would be no white sugar in addition to the tapioca syrup, but this CBD gummy ingredient list is still very much in the top tier of nutritional quality. 

Flavor and Texture

These gummies were slightly more chewy than average, but still well below the “too chewy threshold” (jaw/tooth pain, taking forever to eat one piece, etc.). 

Our review team thoroughly enjoyed the cherry lime flavor, which would have been ruined—as almost all flavor is—had it not been supported by natural flavoring.

As for how well this product covered up the hemp taste, it was fairly effective in the short term and very effective at covering up the aftertaste; most CBD gummies only mask the bitterness for a few seconds.

Overall, we have very little to offer in the way of legitimate gripes against the flavor and texture of these gummies.

Effectiveness

Where many people may find 25mg of CBD to be an effective dose, our review team generally needs 50-75mg at a time to elicit noticeable benefits, depending on THC concentration and other factors.

When we can feel effects at the lower end of this range, as we did when taking two Receptra Naturals Seriously Relax gummies, then we know the product is well-formulated.

Two gummies taken about 3-4 hours before bed was effective in promoting deep relaxation that didn’t completely knock us out, allowing us to still manage unforeseen chores/tasks without feeling like we were on a timer.

It’s not that we would never recommend taking them earlier in the day, as the body’s circadian rhythm dramatizes the relaxation effect when taken later, but they are just potent enough to possibly affect work-related concentration and motivation for some people. 

Overall, we were pleased with how effective these gummies were in promoting a balanced sense of relaxation.
