This is our Select CBD Drops review.

We’ve negotiated a special Social CBD coupon code for our readers to take advantage of.

Updated on: August 30, 2019

In our Select CBD Drops review, we analyze the quality of Select CBD’s hemp, the product’s value, flavor, effectiveness, and much more. Overall, our team was impressed. Each of the tinctures features a clean, distinct taste determined by the herbs that are infused into the oil. Most importantly, the oil was pure and offered potent, specific benefits.

Here are our highlights from the Select CBD tinctures:

PRODUCTS WE TESTED

Select CBD Drops

Takeaways

  • Well-priced
  • Oil has a clean, pure taste
  • Lemon Ginger was invigorating and provided an energy boost
  • Lavender helped us relax and feel ready for bed
  • Unflavored was truly flavorless

Note: As of late August 2019, Select CBD has undergone a name change to become Social CBD. In an email sent to customers, Select CBD said, “Don’t worry, every reason you’ve come to trust and love our products will stay the same.”

According to the new website, the brand wanted to distance themselves from the cannabis scene, because “hemp and cannabis play very different roles in our lives, and we felt it was in everyone’s best interest that we stayed true to our mission that’s singularly focused on delivering pure, powerful, and most of all, trusted hemp products to people who care about their health.”

Select CBD Drops Review

overview of select cbd drops

For our Select CBD Drops review, we tested three of Select CBD’s tinctures:

  • Lavender Drops
  • Lemon Ginger Drops
  • Unflavored Drops

All of the tinctures contain 1 oz of oil with 1,000 mg of CBD isolate and test at 0.0% THC.

Each tincture is infused with different herbs to provide unique benefits, such as boosting energy, improving focus, enhancing recovery, promoting relaxation, and improving sleep.

We review CBD tinctures based on the quality of the hemp they came from, cannabinoid concentration, value, packaging, ingredients, flavor and scent, and effectiveness.

Let’s start with Select CBD’s hemp quality.

Select CBD Hemp Quality

Select CBD uses hemp from Oregon farms licensed and regulated by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

As a result, the company uses an entirely legal supply chain, and the hemp comes from the farms with a certificate of authenticity.

After obtaining the hemp, Select CBD uses ethanol extraction, a common method that is both safe and efficient.

The oil is furthered purified and distilled until it becomes CBD isolate.

Afterward, every batch of oil is tested for cannabinoid potency, pesticides, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbes.

Select CBD uses Pixis Labs and Lightscale Labs to conduct these tests, both of which are accredited by the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP).

The batches must meet stringent testing standards that the company claims are higher than the ones organic fruit is held to.

Full third-party results are available on Select CBD’s website here, while cannabinoid potency results are displayed directly on the tinctures and their packaging.

Final products are manufactured, packaged, and shipped from a facility also licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Concentration

All of these Select CBD Drops products contain 1,000 mg of CBD, which is good for 30 servings at 33.33 mg of CBD per serving.

According to the lab results on the tinctures we tested, the CBD concentration was slightly higher than the baseline by about 10-20 mg.

It’s challenging to compare Select CBD’s tincture to those from other brands because tincture concentrations vary wildly; however, at 33.33 mg per serving, this concentration is somewhat high.

In general, users have to take higher doses of CBD isolate products (like Select CBD’s) than full-spectrum products to notice results, so a high serving is welcomed.

Value

1,000 mg Unflavored Drops

Value:

$65.oo ($0.065/mg)

Ingredients:

Hemp-derived CBD Extract and Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT)

These Select CBD Drops products cost $65.00, which comes out to $0.065/mg.

The price per mg is fantastic in comparison with tinctures of similar sizes and concentrations.

In fact, Select CBD is one of the most cost-efficient brands in the CBD industry.

CBDistillery, a popular CBD brand known for affordable products, also asks $65 for their THC-Free 1,000 mg tincture.

Packaging

The packaging by Select CBD might be our team’s favorite compared with all the CBD brands we’ve reviewed.

Every tincture comes in its own box with a sticker enclosing the box that has the flavor name on it.

Third-party results of the cannabinoid potency for the tincture’s batch are available directly on the packaging.

The tinctures come in an amber glass bottle, and the dropper has markings to measure how much oil you’re taking.

Since it’s distilled down to CBD isolate, the oil is clear and pure-looking in Unflavored and Lavender, but has a slight yellow color in Lemon Ginger.

Ingredients

1,000 mg Lemon Ginger Drops

Value

$65.00 ($0.065/mg)

$65.oo ($0.065/mg)

Ingredients:

Hemp-derived CBD extract, Fractioned Coconut Oil (MCT), Lemon Essential Oil, Ginger, Turmeric Herbs, and Stevia.

Ingredients in the Unflavored tincture include: Hemp-derived CBD Extract and Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT).

Ingredients in the Lavender tincture include: Hemp-derived CBD Extract, Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT), Lavender Essential Oil, Chamomile, Passion Flower, and Stevia.

Ingredients in the Lemon Ginger tincture include: Hemp-derived CBD extract, Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT), Lemon Essential Oil, Ginger, Turmeric Herbs, and Stevia.

The Unflavored tincture is the simplest of the Select CBD Drops products and is the base formula for all of them.

Lavender Drops adds chamomile, passion flower, and lavender, all of which are believed to help with relaxation and sleep.

Lemon Ginger Drops adds lemon, ginger, and turmeric, which are intended to help with recovery and energy.

Flavor & Scent

Select CBD Drops are some of the best flavored (or, flavorless) tinctures that we’ve tried.

Unflavored is truly flavorless, something that has been surprisingly difficult to find in the CBD market, and also has no scent.

Unflavored tastes clean, pure, and has no hint of hemp.

The Lavender tincture has a soothing lavender aroma with a moderate lavender flavor.

Thankfully, the taste was not overbearing like some lavender products tend to be.

Lemon Ginger subtly tastes and smells like citrus with a hint of ginger.

Effectiveness

We tested the Select CBD Drops in line with the unique benefits that each tincture was intended to provide.

For Unflavored, we tested it for common CBD effects like energy, relaxation, recovery, sleep, and well-being.

We tested the Lavender for help with relaxation and sleep.

Finally, for Lemon Ginger, we tested it for help with energy, focus, and recovery.

Select CBD says the activation time of the tinctures is about 30 minutes, which we found to be accurate.

Generally, the effects lasted for four to six hours.

Unflavored Drops

The most noticeable benefits we found in the Unflavored Drops were for relaxation and sleep.

Taking the tincture around 30 minutes to an hour before bed helped us feel relaxed and ready for bed more so than without taking CBD.

We also found some mild pain relief effects from Unflavored.

Since this is an isolate, we typically needed about 50-60 mg (1.5-1.8 servings) to feel these effects, while with a full-spectrum product, we would usually only need 30-40 mg (about 1 serving).

Lavender Drops

Lavender Drops were excellent for relaxation and sleep.

Our sleep quality was significantly improved as compared to not taking CBD.

Team members reported falling asleep faster, staying asleep throughout the night, and sleeping longer.

Aside from the sleep benefits, the tincture helped us relax and unwind after a long day.

We felt at ease and in a better mood after taking Lavender.

Unlike with Unflavored, we did not need to take extra oil to feel the effects, which we attributed to the presence of the supplements herbs (lavender, chamomile, and passion flower).

Lemon Ginger Drops

The most noticeable benefits we got from the Lemon Ginger Drops were for energy and focus.

Members of our team felt more energetic and lively after taking the tincture.

We also felt more focused when working, which seemed to improve our productivity.

We noticed some subtle effects for recovery, including a decrease in muscle soreness and inflammation due to exercise.

Similar to the Lavender tincture, it seemed that the presence of the supplemental herbs prevented us from needing to take more of the Lemon Ginger tincture to feel the effects.

Pros & Cons

Pros for the Select CBD tinctures:

  • Sourced from clean, high-quality, regulated hemp
  • Well-priced and cost-efficient
  • Enjoyable flavors, not overbearing
  • Supplemental herbs
  • Noticeable effects

Cons for the Select CBD tinctures:

  • May require higher dosages for the same results as full-spectrum hemp oil

Conclusion

Our team was impressed with virtually every aspect of the Select CBD Drops.

The hemp quality is superb, the flavors are great (as well as the flavorless taste of Unflavored), and the benefits are easily noticeable.

As a result, we can happily recommend Select CBD Drops.
