Welcome to our CBDPure review!

The best product we tried from CBDPure was their 25mg softgels, which are convenient and effective.

Recommended Product:

CBDPure CBD Softgels 750

The best product from CBDPure hands down is the softgels.

Providing 25mg per softgel, the CBD potency is strong enough to provide a noticeable sense of relaxation and calm.

With CBDPure’s softgels, customers are in for a convenient and simple treat that won’t break the bank.

CBDPure, owned by parent company NutraPure, is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington.

Owner CJ Montgomery, who is also a lawyer, has 20 years of experience in nutritional supplements and founded his first supplement company called Speedwinds Nutrition in 2002.

When he started CBDPure in 2016, Montgomery knew what it would take to create a reputable brand, so he partnered with farmers who use organic hemp growing methods and CO2 extraction.

Montgomery also focused on ensuring the quality of CBDPure’s products with third-party lab testing, which ensures each product batch contains (or doesn’t contain) optimal levels of cannabinoids, terpenes, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes.

The company’s entire manufacturing process adheres to current Good Manufacturing Practice, an FDA-ready standard.

More importantly, we enjoyed CBDPure’s products and our team found them personally effective.

After carefully analyzing CBDPure’s manufacturing and vetting their products, we are happy to recommend CBDPure as a trustworthy brand.

CBDPure Review

Certain factors can make or break a CBD brand, such as how a company sources their hemp, or if the labeling matches what is inside the products.

At The CBD Insider, we measure the excellence of a brand by four primary criteria:

  • The quality of their manufacturing process
  • The value of their products
  • The quality of their ingredients
  • The efficacy of their products

Let’s start with what separates CBDPure from other CBD brands.

What Makes CBDPure Unique?

CBDPure, through parent company NutraPure, is currently funding a clinical study on CBD, the results of which are expected to be released in the summer of 2020.

Researching CBD is an expensive and long process that few companies have the opportunity to participate in because of factors like liability insurance and the cannabinoid’s relation to cannabis, which makes funding difficult to secure.

“You have to carry two million dollars worth of liability insurance, which that alone weeds out about eighty percent of the guys out there,” said Montgomery.

Where Does CBDPure Get Their Hemp?

CBDPure primarily sources their hemp from farms in Washington while a small portion comes from Colorado.

The farms the company sources from are registered and licensed under the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA).

All of the hemp undergoes a WSDA pre-harvest test, which determines the THC level of the crop to ensure it’s under the 0.3% threshold.

While not USDA certified, CBDPure says they grow their hemp organically without the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Here is a list of practices CBDPure certifies that it follows when growing and harvesting its hemp:

  • Testing soil and farm acreage for toxins and chemical residues.
  • Planting hemp seeds that have not been genetically altered (non-GMO).
  • Growing CBD-rich hemp without the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides.
  • Using only chemical-free natural fertilizers during the growing season.
  • Harvesting hemp plants using only manual and mechanical processes.
  • Extracting cannabidiol from our hemp biomass using no chemical solvents, only CO2.
  • Bottling CBD oil with only naturally-derived hemp carrier oil.
  • Adding no non-natural additives or preservatives to our finished CBD products.

What Extraction Method Does CBDPure Use?

CBDPure extracts their oil from the stem and leaves of hemp using supercritical CO2.

CO2 is considered by some to be the best extraction method available because it requires no further refining to remove the solvent.

Does CBDPure Use Third-Party Lab Testing?

CBDPure uses Portland-based Columbia Laboratories, formerly known as Pixis Labs, as their primary third-party testing laboratory.

Columbia Laboratories has ISO-17025 and Oregon Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP) accreditation.

The lab’s testing methods have been validated through ORELAP and the Washington Department of Ecology.

To help verify lab results, CBDPure also uses Trace Analytics.

CBDPure has their labs test for cannabinoid potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, and terpenes.

Customers can find lab results for the brand’s products here.

CBDPure Certifications

Currently, CBDPure does not have any certifications but the company follows current Good Manufacturing Practice as established by the FDA for dietary supplements.

Nutra Pure is a member of the Hemp Industries Association.

CBDPure Website

CBDPure’s website is simple and navigable despite a slightly dated feel.

The site includes a short page about the brand, a page of FAQs, a brief description of its 100% satisfaction, 90-day guarantee, and a shopping page.

The shopping experience is not ideal as there is no visible shopping cart and it is not accessible unless a customer adds another product to their cart.

Regardless, we found it easy enough to navigate and place an order.

The mobile version of the site is well done, providing a clean, responsive, and enjoyable experience.

CBDPure Customer Service

CBDPure offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, allowing customers to send back their products within 90 days for a refund of the purchase price if they are not satisfied with the results.

Shipping to the US, Canada, or the UK is $6.95 regardless of your cart value and takes 3-7 days for delivery after 1-2 days for processing.

If you need help or have any questions about CBD or CBDPure, their online support agents are quick to respond, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Future of CBDPure

CBDPure has stuck with full-spectrum hemp extract products since its inception and while the company pondered CBD isolate-based goods, they have steered clear so far.

The company has not produced gummies, one of the most popular CBD product types, because they often contain CBD isolate.

“We’re not trying to be all things to all people,” said Montgomery. “At the end of the day, we like our products and our customers like them.”

With that said, the CBDPure is moving towards an increasing focus on minor cannabinoids.

Montgomery told us that he is telling his farmers to use hemp genetics that will produce higher concentrations of minor cannabinoids.

“We think [minor cannabinoids] are the future, and people buy it because it works. That’s why we use full-spectrum and why we like these minor cannabinoid profiles,” said Montgomery.

CBDPure Pros and Cons

CBDPure pros:

  • Organic farming methods
  • CO2 extraction
  • Comprehensive third-party testing
  • Funds CBD research
  • Full-spectrum products

CBDPure cons:

  • Dated website
  • Difficult shopping experience
  • Few products
  • Mostly low concentrations

Best CBDPure Products

We believe the softgels are CBDPure’s best product:

CBDPure CBD Softgels 750

The best product from CBDPure hands down is the softgels.

Providing 25mg per softgel, the CBD potency is strong enough to provide a noticeable sense of relaxation and calm.

With CBDPure’s softgels, customers are in for a convenient and simple treat that won’t break the bank.

We noticed the strongest and most helpful benefits with the CBDPure softgels.

Members of our team felt relaxed, calm, and were in a more upbeat mood after taking the softgels.

We would recommend these to a CBD consumer of any level who wants a solid, reliable product.

CBDPure CBD Oil 600 Review

Concentration

As its name suggests, the CBDPure 600 tincture contains 600mg of CBD in two ounces of full-spectrum hemp oil, which comes out to 300mg per ounce.

According to the certificate of analysis for our particular product, the tincture had 602mg of CBD, which is impressively accurate to the advertised concentration.

CBC was the only detected minor cannabinoid, which came in at 4.4mg total.

At only 300mg per ounce and 10mg per serving, this is a low potency product that most individuals on our team would not choose; however, we like the amount of servings that a two ounce tincture offers as they’re not common among most brands.

In the future, we would like to see CBDPure move toward higher serving sizes and add the more standard one ounce tincture to their product line.

Value

One bottle of the 600 tincture costs $54.99, which clocks in at $0.092/mg.

Our team was pleased with the affordable price, especially for a low potency tincture.

The three and six-month supply options are more cost efficient, with the price per mg going as low as $0.061.

Packaging

The packaging of CBDPure’s products—including the CBDPure 600 tincture—has enough to get by, but it leaves a bit to be desired aesthetically.

As with any reputable dietary supplement company, CBDPure provides supplement facts, suggested use information, a standard warning, and an FDA disclaimer.

At the bottom of the bottle, customers can find the expiration date and batch number that can be used to look up the particular product’s third-party lab results.

We did have some minor issues with the bottling.

Parts of the child-proof cap crumbled from the first time we used it; however, this was only a few negligible pieces of plastic and the mechanism still functions properly.

Ingredients

CBDPure does not provide a standard ingredient list: that’s because the sole ingredient is full-spectrum hemp extract.

While most CBD companies use MCT oil as a carrier for the hemp extract, CBDPure sticks to purely hemp for its tinctures.

Flavor

While CBDPure does not currently offer any flavor options, we were pleasantly surprised with the taste of the oil.

It clearly tastes like hemp, but the flavor is much more subtle than that of other companies who offer “naturally flavored” CBD oil.

Those who like the taste of hemp will enjoy it and those who are not big fans may appreciate the subtleness.

Effectiveness

The results were about what we expected considering the concentration of the oil.

Most noticeably, our team found the 600 bottle helped us feel tired and ready for bed.

Other than that, we did not notice many other benefits.

Pros & Cons

Pros of CBDPure 600 tincture:

  • Several servings
  • Affordable
  • Subtle hemp flavor

Cons of CBDPure 600 tincture:

  • Low concentration
  • Few noticeable benefits

CBDPure CBD Softgels Review

learn more about cbdpure review

Concentration

The CBDPure CBD softgels contain 25mg/softgel for a total of 750mg.

According to third-party lab results, our specific softgels had 26.3mg of CBD per softgel.

Several minor cannabinoids were also detected, albeit at miniscule concentrations.

For softgels, this is a medium-high concentration of CBD as most softgel and capsule products contain around 15mg per serving.

CBDPure currently only offers a bottle of 30 softgels.

Value

One bottle of CBDPure CBD softgels cost $89.99, which comes out to $0.12/mg.

While this is not overly expensive, it is a little higher than we like to see for softgels.

If customers are willing to purchase three to six month supplies, the cost efficiency increases significantly ($0.10/mg and $0.083/mg, respectively).

Packaging

As with all CBDPure products, the softgels provide enough information but are quite simplistic.

Like CBDPure’s 600 tincture, the softgels also have a child-proof cap on a glass bottle.

The label contains supplement facts, an ingredient list, suggested use information, a standard warning, and FDA disclaimer, while the batch number and expiration date are on the bottom of the bottle.

Ingredients

CBDPure’s softgels are made with a simple and basic list of ingredients: Full Spectrum Hemp Oil, Cannabidiol (CBD), Gelatin, Vegetable Glycerin, and Distilled Water.

Flavor and Texture

As we expected, the softgels have no discernible flavor.

The softgels are solid, not squishy like products from other brands.

Effectiveness

Our team was satisfied with the benefits we experienced from the softgels.

Most noticeably, the softgels helped us relax and find a significant sense of calm.

These effects lasted for at least four to five hours.

Pros & Cons

Pros for the CBDPure CBD softgels:

  • Medium-high concentration
  • Simple ingredients
  • Noticeably effective

Cons for the CBDPure CBD softgels:

  • Slightly expensive

CBDPure CBD Infused Cream Review
photo

learn more about cbdpure review

Concentration

The CBDPure CBD Infused Cream contains 500mg of CBD total in three ounces of cream, which is 166.7mg/oz.

The concentration is somewhat low for the product volume, which indicates that the other ingredients in the topical are what makes this effective.

Value

CBDPure’s CBD Infused Cream retails for $39.99, which is $0.08/mg.

In the realm of topicals, this is an affordable price since most CBD topical products have a higher price per mg.

Packaging

CBDPure’s CBD Infused Cream is contained in a three-ounce squeeze tube.

The packaging includes directions, an ingredient list, a standard warning, and the batch number at the top of the tube.

The cream is also apparently intended for muscles and joints, according to text on the front of the tube.

Ingredients

The ingredients in the cream are quite impressive, as they include: Water (Aqua), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Menthol, Polyacrylamide, Full Spectrum Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) Oil, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Squalane, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Salix Alba (White Willow) Bark Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Laureth-7, Ethylhexylglycerin, and Glycerin.

Menthol and eucalyptus have beneficial properties of their own that may increase the potential efficacy of this particular product.

Scent and Texture

As expected, the cream smells a lot like menthol; however, the cooling effect of the menthol is much more subtle than we expected.

The cream rubs easily into the skin and is absorbed fairly quickly.

Effectiveness

We were slightly disappointed in the effectiveness of the cream.

Likely due to the low concentration of CBD and the subtle effects of the menthol, this cream did not seem to match products of a similar makeup in terms of effectiveness, such as the Social CBD Muscle Rub.

With that said, we still noticed some benefits for relaxing muscle tension and improving general discomfort.

Pros & Cons

Pros for the CBDPure CBD Infused Cream:

  • Affordable
  • Good ingredients
  • Helpful for some discomfort and relaxing muscles

Cons for the CBDPure CBD Infused Cream:

  • Low concentration
  • Menthol is too subtle
  • Not as effective as other similar creams

All CBDPure Products

CBDPure features a small line of products across four categories:

  • CBD Oil Tinctures
  • Softgels
  • Topicals
  • Pet CBD Oil

While the brand does not have a lot of bells and whistles like flavored oil or several CBD concentration levels, its limited focus has allowed the company to produce their products with stellar quality.

Conclusion

CBDPure has invested a lot in furthering clinical knowledge of CBD and ensuring its own products are safe.

This investment has allowed the brand to focus on mastering its product line.

As a result, we believe CBDPure is ideal for consumers who want CBD with no frills at an affordable price.

Thus, after comprehensively reviewing CBDPure’s operations and products, we are happy to recommend CBDPure.
