Elixinol CBD Oil Review

We tested the full-spectrum Organic Balance Tincture and full-spectrum Daily Balance Tincture from Elixinol.

Currently, the Organic Balance only comes in a 1oz, 300mg tincture, while the Daily Balance Tincture comes in four concentrations and sizes.

Elixinol offers other tinctures as well, including a Daily Balance tincture made with broad-spectrum hemp extract, and a full-spectrum Daily Balance Liposome.

Our team reviews CBD oils based on their quality, concentration, value, packaging, ingredients, and effectiveness.

Let’s start with the quality of Elixinol’s hemp-derived CBD.

Quality

Elixinol, a vertically integrated company, gets its hemp from registered hemp farmers in Colorado who grow USDA-certified organic hemp.

As part of their organic certification, the hemp is not sprayed with pesticides or herbicides, while several other safety protocols are followed.

Elixinol uses CO2 to extract oil from the aerial parts of the plant—the parts exposed to air—such as the stem, leaves, and flower.

CO2 is one of the most popular solvents used to extract hemp oil because it does not require filtration, preserving the purity of the oil and leaving no residue that could be toxic to consumers.

Elixinol primarily formulates its products with full-spectrum hemp extract, but the brand uses broad-spectrum hemp extract in a few of its products.

In the case of the Organic Balance and Daily Balance tinctures that we tried, Elixinol uses full-spectrum extract.

Elixinol has all of its products third-party lab tested by Eurofins, a globally recognized and respected lab headquartered in Luxembourg.

To further verify results, the brand also uses Botanacor, a respected third-party lab based in Denver, Colorado.

Elixinol asks these labs to test its products for cannabinoid potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes.

All Elixinol products have QR codes printed on their labels, allowing consumers to quickly access the brand’s batch testing page.

Consumers can enter the batch number of their product, which is typically found at the bottom of the bottle on the Sports Gel, to see the third-party testing results.

In addition to its USDA organic certification, Elixinol has earned a cGMP certification and the US Hemp Authority seal from the organization’s certification program.

The brand is also a member of the US Hemp Roundtable, the industry’s most prestigious advocacy body.

Concentration

The concentration of CBD in Organic Balance is 300mg (10mg/ml) while Daily Balance has 500mg (16.7mg/ml).

According to the certificates of analysis, the Organic Balance had 10.6mg/ml while the Daily Balance had 18mg/ml.

The third-party results for our Organic Balance tincture did not detect any other cannabinoids besides THC (well within the legal limit).

However, results for our Daily Balance tincture detected 0.7mg/ml of CBDA, 0.4mg/ml of CBG, and 0.4mg/ml of THC (within the legal limit).

Seeing minor cannabinoids appear on a lab report for a full-spectrum is always an encouraging sign with a full-spectrum product.

As for the CBD content, our team is a little disappointed with the low concentrations that Elixinol offers.

Elixinol does offer four concentrations for this particular Daily Balance tincture, including 133mg/0.27oz (16.6mg/ml), 500mg/1oz (16.7mg/ml), 1000mg/2oz (16.7mg/ml), and 4000mg/4oz (33.3mg/ml).

As you can see, despite the amount of CBD rising, the concentration level remains the same because the amount of oil also rises equally until the 4000mg tincture.

It is good to see a brand providing different tincture sizes, but we would love to see Elixinol increase its concentrations.

Nevertheless, people respond differently to various concentrations, and as a result, products with this kind of potency have the potential to be effective for the right person.

Value

Both tinctures retail for $29.99, which comes out to $0.10/mg for Organic Balance and $0.06/mg for Daily Balance.

While the concentrations may be low, so are the prices.

A prominent differentiator for Elixinol is their brand loyalty, and affordable products like these are one way the brand has cultivated and maintained their following.

We give massive kudos to Elixinol for making such affordable products.

Packaging

Elixinol employs a simple and sleek design for their CBD tinctures that is more or less uniform, distinguishable almost solely by color.

Each of the tinctures contains supplement facts, an ingredients list, suggested use information, an FDA disclaimer, QR code, and the US Hemp Authority seal.

Organic Balance’s label also contains the USDA organic seal.

The bottles are a dark navy color for protection from sunlight and capped with child-proof dropper lids.

Ingredients

The ingredients in Organic Balance include: Organic MCT Coconut Oil, Organic Whole Plant Hemp Extract, and Organic Copaiba Oil.

The ingredients for Daily Balance include: Hemp Extract, MCT Coconut Oil, Peppermint Oil, Cinnamon Oil, and Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP).

These ingredients for both tinctures are simple and healthy.

With Organic Balance, our team was happy to see that Elixinol uses completely organic ingredients, not solely organic hemp extract.

Flavor

As advertised on the label, Organic Balance has a natural hemp flavor and scent.

The hemp flavor was not as strong as other naturally flavored CBD oil tinctures we’ve used—likely due to the low CBD concentration—which was nice to our team.

On the other hand, Daily Balance has a potent cinnamon and mint flavor.

The spiciness of cinnamon and the crisp, refreshing taste of mint makes for a fun experience that our team enjoyed.

The flavor of cinnamint does tend to linger, so the more subtle natural flavor option for Daily Balance may be what some customers prefer.

Effectiveness

Although Daily Balance was more effective for some of our team, neither tincture produced significant benefits.

We tried two or three servings of either tincture each time we used it to see what kind of benefits we noticed.

Organic Balance seemed to help us feel a little calmer and more relaxed than without CBD.

Daily Balance seemed useful for providing energy and helping us focus a little better.

Overall, our team experienced more noticeable benefits from Daily Balance than Organic Balance, which we attribute to the higher concentration of CBD.

With that said, these concentrations may be plenty for those who only require small servings of CBD.

Pros & Cons

Pros for Elixinol’s CBD oil tinctures:

• Daily Balance has an enjoyable flavor
• Daily Balance seemed to help with energy and focus

Cons for Elixinol’s CBD oil tinctures:

Conclusion

After our Elixinol CBD oil review, we have determined that Elixinol produces high-quality, affordable CBD oil.

While the brand mostly offers only low potency CBD oil, the value is astounding because of the low costs and excellent cost efficiency.

We enjoyed the taste of both tinctures: Organic Balance’s natural, yet subtle hemp taste and Daily Balance’s more potent cinnamint flavor.

Although we didn’t experience significant effects—Daily Balance was helpful for energy and focus—we know that there are likely many people who find these tinctures beneficial at their respective concentrations.

With all of that said, we recommend Elixinol’s CBD oil.
