CBD-infused salves and creams are a staple in the CBD industry, so we decided to test Hemp Health’s topicals. After spending ample time testing Hemp Health’s products, we’re releasing our findings. To sum up our thoughts, these topicals are nothing short of fantastic. Offering pleasing aromas and a wide range of potential uses, we’re confident they can be excellent solutions for occasional aches, irritation, post-workout recovery, and skin care.
Here’s our favorite Hemp Health topical:
We tested all three of Hemp Health’s 1 oz, 150 mg CBD Topicals: Coconut Vanilla, Ginger Honey, and Peppermint Eucalyptus.
We review CBD products by the quality of their hemp material, CBD concentration, product packaging, scent and texture (and taste, in some cases), effectiveness, and value.
Let’s start with the quality of the hemp oil in Hemp Health’s topicals.

Hemp Health’s topicals are created with full-spectrum hemp oil made from safe and clean hemp plants.
The company sources its hemp from Germany and Croatia, countries with excellent—and enforced—agricultural standards.
Hemp Health then extracts the oil from the plants using CO2 or ethanol, two of the safest solvents used in extraction.
Once products are finished, third-party laboratories verify the concentration, test for microbial contamination, and screen for pesticides.
Hemp Health’s topicals also contain added ingredients like essential oils such as coconut oil or arnica oil.
These added ingredients are sourced from American vendors with similarly strict quality standards.
All of Hemp Health’s topicals contain 1 oz of salve with 150 mg of cannabinoids.
According to recent COAs, the precise amount of cannabinoids fluctuated from around 142-158 mg, an acceptable range of discrepancy.
CBD makes up about 97% of the total amount of cannabinoids.
In comparison to other topicals, this salve’s concentration is on the lower end of the spectrum, featuring approximately 5.3 mg of cannabinoids per gram of product (i.e., 28.35 grams = one ounce).
Several other topicals from respected CBD brands contain around 250 mg of cannabinoids or more per ounce of product (i.e., 8.8+ mg of cannabinoids per gram).
However, while the concentration of CBD may be low, the combination of added ingredients such as arnica oil, vanilla oil, or peppermint oil ensure the topicals are efficacious.
All of Hemp Health’s salves are priced at $29.98, which translates to $0.20/mg.
Topicals tend to run a little higher in price per mg than other CBD products, but this price leans toward the expensive side.
Most topicals—from reputable brands—range from just below $0.10/mg to $0.25/mg, while only a few go for well above $0.25/mg.
For example, topicals from Receptra Naturals are about $0.09/mg – $0.11/mg, while a topical from Citizen CBD costs about $0.25/mg. So, Hemp Health’s price of $0.20/mg sits on the higher side of the spectrum.
However, Hemp Health is more cost-efficient than some CBD brands when you consider the product size (1 oz), as several other 1 oz topicals are around the $50 mark.
With that said, the value of a product is about more than just cost; it’s also about if it’s effective for those who use it.
Since we experienced several benefits from these topicals, we believe they’re more than worth their $30 price tag.
Each of the topicals come in 1 ounce, clear glass jars with black screw-top lids.
The Vanilla Coconut and Ginger Honey have attractive and nearly identical labels save for a difference in color scheme. The Vanilla Coconut has a dark brown tone reminiscent of a vanilla bean and coconut shell, while the Ginger Honey is golden orange like honey.
The Peppermint Eucalyptus label is a bit different, sporting a light blue look with shiny, chrome lettering. While the lettering looks stylish and attractive, it would tend to rub off if we had residue from the salve on our hands, leaving tiny pieces of shiny plastic.
Also, an ingredient list is at the bottom of each jar.
Besides the CBD hemp oil, each of these topicals contains excellent ingredients like arnica oil, coconut oil, and beeswax.
Arnica oil is known to have anti-inflammatory benefits and may help heal bruises.
Coconut oil is another great ingredient for topical use, including reducing inflammation, moisturizing skin, and potentially treating acne.
A well-known ingredient in chapstick, beeswax may also help moisturize skin, reduce the appearance of stretch marks, and treat conditions like eczema and acne.
Here are the ingredients for each topical:
The scents are potent and incredibly pleasant, lasting for several hours after application.
The smell can permeate clothing and other materials, so be careful about what you touch or interact with if you don’t want it to smell like vanilla, ginger, or peppermint.
Vanilla Coconut has a sweet, vanilla scent and has the strongest smell of the trio.
It’s also the softest topical, easily spreading on the skin.
While we did find the Vanilla Coconut to be greasy, it was still the favorite of some of the reviewers on our team.
Ginger Honey smells like ginger with a hint of vanilla.
The salve itself is firmer than the Vanilla Coconut yet still spreads easily and is not quite as greasy.
Peppermint Eucalyptus smells exactly like an infusion of peppermint and eucalyptus.
This one is the firmest of the topicals, requiring you to warm the contents with your finger until it’s applicable.
After it’s warmed, the salve spreads fine, but is not quite as easy as the others; however, Peppermint Eucalyptus is the least greasy and our team’s overall favorite.
We used the salves to test their effects on occasional aches, post-workout recovery, bug bites, and skin care.
In general, the effects of the salves lasted several hours, minimizing the need to reapply throughout a given day.
One of our team members has occasional aches in his knee.
Despite trying several therapies, none of them have had any substantial success when the discomfort arises.
However, after applying the Peppermint Eucalyptus salve to his knee, he felt nearly immediate relief.
Peppermint Eucalyptus had the best results for speeding up the recovery process.
Immediately after exercising, a team member massaged the muscles and tendons he used with the Peppermint Eucalyptus salve.
He found that it noticeably reduced the initial soreness he felt, which led to less recovery time.
We found that applying the Peppermint Eucalyptus salve to the shoulders and back also reduced stiffness.
We found that the Peppermint Eucalyptus salve soothed the itch and irritation from bug bites.
It also seemed to reduce the swelling of the bite.
The body balms were the best for nourishing skin.
To treat dry skin, we used the body balms about 3-4 times during the day to moisturize dry skin on our hands. They both did a great job, and we noticed our skin becoming softer and more supple after a few days of consistent use.
Overall, Hemp Health has reached a level of excellence with these topicals. Created with exceptional hemp oil, consumers can rest assured they will be using a safe and potent product.
Also, while the salves have a lower-than-average concentration of cannabinoids at a slightly above average price, their effectiveness simply cannot be denied. This fact makes these products from Hemp Health some of our team’s favorite CBD topical solutions.
Without hesitation, we are happy to recommend Hemp Health’s topicals as high-quality, effective products that are pleasant both to use and smell.
